ChangeThis.com changes hands (and summer side job)
ChangeThis was an interesting experiment set up by marketing guru Seth Godin and friends/interns. User-contributed manifestos are uploaded to an online slush pile which gets rated by visitors. The top rated manifestos get published. I've read a couple of these manifestos -- some are great, some are somewhat interesting. My favorite was Chris Anderson's The Long Tail; I've been waiting for him to write the darn book :)
Unfortunately, there hasn't been any new manifestos for months and I feared the site DOF ("Dead on February"). Now it looks like the venture has changed hands from Seth Godin to 800-CEO-READ. Read about it here.
Godin is moving on to new, big ideas and he's calling for web-savvy "interns" to help him. ChangeThis was the result of his last summer session, and this one's supposed to be a profitable business, so if you have the skillset and are willing to work a summer (mostly from home) for $4000, check out his plan. Note that Godin has offered a $1000 bounty to whoever helps find his team. Since he's got me talking about it, I guess his viral marketing ideas really work :)
